The Ford’s Día de los Muertos community celebration brought together international artist Lila Downs with the Los Angeles-based organizations Grandeza Mexicana folkloric ballet and LORE Media & Arts cultural event production company for a memorable weekend.

I was brought in as a creative producer to ensure these elements blended harmoniously throughout the project’s development. The result transformed the Ford into a culturally authentic setting for the community to reflect upon and celebrate the Day of the Dead.

The Ford’s natural setting in the Hollywood Hills has inherent magic, but I worked together with LORE Media & Arts to stage the front of house areas with art, music, and activities to bring

the holiday to life and set the tone for the concert at the center of the evening. Guests had the opportunity to contribute messages to a community ofrenda and chat with artists about their work.
